🌧 Don’t Wait for the “Perfect” Forecast 🌤
There’s something comforting about checking the forecast before we plan a big day, isn’t there? We want clear skies for our celebrations, sunny weather for our adventures, and no storms in sight when we’re stepping out into something new. But life, much like the weather, is so unpredictable.
Ecclesiastes 11:3–4
“If clouds are full of water, they pour rain on the earth. Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there it will lie. Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.” — Ecclesiastes 11:3-4
There will always be cloudy skies. There will always be unknowns, what-ifs, and storms we can't predict. How often do we find ourselves stuck here? Wishing. Waiting. Worrying. We’re convinced that when everything feels just right—when the timing is better, when the finances are perfect, when we feel more confident—then we’ll take the next step. Then we’ll plant. Then we’ll harvest. Then we’ll say “yes” to what God is calling us toward.
But if we keep staring at the clouds, we’ll miss the harvest.
If we keep overanalyzing the wind, we’ll never scatter the seeds of faith we were meant to plant.
Faith moves even when the skies are gray.
Faith trusts even when the wind feels strong.
Faith plants seeds, not because the conditions are perfect, but because the God who sends the rain is faithful.
"As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things."
(Ecclesiastes 11:5, NIV)
In other words, we’re not supposed to have it all figured out before we step forward. God is the One writing the story, growing the seeds, and sending the seasons. Our job is to trust Him enough to take the next right step—even if we can't predict how it will all unfold.
And maybe that’s exactly where the beauty is found.
Not in the "perfect forecast," but in the imperfect obedience that says, "Lord, I don’t see the full picture, but I trust You enough to move anyway."
You’re never planting alone.
You’re never stepping into the unknown without the One who holds the seasons in His hands.
A few things Ecclesiastes 11 taught my heart:
Plant seeds of kindness, faith, dreams, and love even when you’re unsure of the outcome.
Don’t let the fear of "what if" hold you back – The skies may never be crystal clear, but God is still good, and He is still God.
Just because you can’t see the results yet doesn’t mean God isn’t working behind the clouds.
Friend, don’t wait for the perfect forecast.
Start now.
Trust God with the weather.
Plant seeds anyway.
And believe—with every step of faith you take—He is faithful to bring a harvest in His perfect time.
"Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well."
(Ecclesiastes 11:6, NIV)
You’re not waiting on the weather.
You’re walking with the One who commands it.
And that’s more than enough.
