Psalm 46:10
I've been doing a study the past few weeks through Psalms, and I had just said yesterday that I haven't had any inspiration to paint. Until I was in the middle of my study last night.
I made a post the other day about how anxious and afraid I've been since our post-op egg retrieval. I feel like I'm at the edge of a storm right before the rain starts. (This is kind of fitting since it just started raining as I type this post!)
But during my study last night, I ready Psalm 46 and I just had this super emotional feeling that everything is going to be okay.
This painting is to show that even at the edge of storms, I can be still and know that God is still working for us. I don't know what He is using us for, but I'm here for it.
In Hebrew, "be still" doesn’t just mean "sit quietly."
It literally means: “Cease striving.”
Stop fighting.
Let go.
Let God.
And then in Mark 4:39 when the wind and waves threatened the boat, and Jesus stood up and said, "Peace. Be still."
And immediately, the storm obeyed.
That is what this piece is about.
It’s about knowing that whether the storm is outside or inside… Whether you’re watching the skies break open or feeling your heart crack,
He is still God and He is still with you. Trust that He will walk with you through any storm.
Everything will be okay.
